By Air
There are daily flights by multiple carriers from Jakarta arriving at Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport (Tanjung Pinang) in Bintan. A new international airport is scheduled to be in operation by 2018.
By Ferry
Most international visitors arrive in Bintan through Singapore and Malaysia (Johor Bahru) via ferries. Operating daily, the ferry services offer fast and pleasant transfer with comfortable seating and onboard services. The ferry terminals offer efficient immigration clearance.

Passports and Visas
All travelers to Indonesia must be in possession of a Passport that is valid for at least six (6) months from the date of arrival, and have proof (tickets) of onward or return passage.
Indonesia now provides special Short Stay Visa Free facilities for tourists who are nationals of a total 75 countries who wish to travel to Indonesia. And, including the 15 countries and Special Regions who already have reciprocal Visa Free Agreements with Indonesia, this brings the total to 90 countries whose nationals may be extended Visa Free Entry.

Currency
According to Bank of Indonesia regulations from September 2014 onwards, all the transactions in Bintan island are to be transacted in Indonesia Rupiah (IDR). Money changers are available on the island.
