The island of Bintan is situated just south of Singapore and is part of the Riau archipelago. It is part of the SINJORI Growth Triangle, which is a tri-partite arrangement between the governments of Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia to co-develop the area into an economic zone.

Travelling time from Singapore to Bintan is about 45 minutes by ferry.
